1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Geldzak ("Geldzak", "we", "us"), the operator of geldzak.com and its subdomains (the "Site"). They cover the articles, calculators, downloadable templates, newsletter, and any other content or service we offer through the Site (together, the "Services").

By using the Site you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. Education only, not professional advice

Geldzak publishes personal finance education and mathematical planning tools. Nothing on the Site, in our newsletter, in our downloads, or in our replies to you is financial, investment, tax, accounting, credit counseling, insurance, or legal advice, and nothing is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial product.

We are not a licensed financial adviser, broker, tax professional, or law firm, and using the Site does not create an adviser-client, fiduciary, or professional relationship between you and us. Your situation is unique. Before acting on anything you read here, consider speaking with a qualified professional who knows your circumstances and the rules of your country or state.

Content may describe approaches that worked in a general case or in a particular country. Tax rates, thresholds, interest rates, and product terms change often and vary by jurisdiction, and we cannot promise that any figure or rule is current or applies to you.

3. Calculators, spreadsheets, and downloads

Our calculators (such as the debt payoff calculator) and downloadable models (such as budget templates, checklists, and spreadsheets) are provided "as is" to help you explore scenarios. They are estimates based on the numbers you enter and on simplifying assumptions, for example a fixed interest rate, payments made on time, and no fees or rate changes. Real lenders calculate interest, apply payments, and charge fees in their own ways.

• Results are illustrations, not quotes, guarantees, or predictions of what you will owe, save, or earn.
• Always verify balances, rates, payoff dates, and payment amounts with your creditors, lenders, or account statements before making decisions.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of the figures you enter and for any decision you make based on the output.
• Calculators run in your browser, and the figures in the calculator are lost if you close or refresh the page. The analytics exception is that running a calculation sends the strategy, number of debts, and total balance to Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Web Analytics. Using the "Email your plan" card sends the strategy and extra monthly payment. The strategy can be avalanche, snowball, or compare (the default). These events do not include your name, email address, debt names, or interest rates. Calculation events do not break the total down by debt. See our Privacy Policy for details.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use our tools and downloadable materials for your own personal, non-commercial financial planning. You may not resell, sublicense, redistribute, publish, or offer them as part of a product or service, or remove any Geldzak branding or notices from them.

4. Newsletter

Subscribing to the newsletter is free. We use double opt-in: your subscription starts only after you open the confirmation link we email you and press the "Confirm my subscription" button on the page. Each issue contains an unsubscribe link, and you can stop receiving emails at any time. We may change the frequency or content of the newsletter or stop publishing it without notice.

You agree to provide an email address you control and not to subscribe other people without their permission or use automated tools to submit our forms.

5. Paid digital products

If we offer paid digital products, such as the Debt Destroyer spreadsheet, they are sold and delivered through Gumroad, a third-party marketplace. When you buy one, your purchase is also governed by Gumroad's terms and privacy policy, and payment, delivery, and refund processing take place on Gumroad. Any refund terms specific to a product are stated on its Gumroad product page.

If we offer paid products, they are licensed, not sold, under the same personal, non-commercial license described in the section on calculators, spreadsheets, and downloads. Prices shown on the Site may change and the price at checkout on Gumroad is the one that applies.

6. Intellectual property

The Site and the Services, including all articles, graphics, logos, the Geldzak name and wordmark, calculators and their underlying code and formulas, spreadsheets, templates, email content, and the selection and arrangement of all of these, are owned by Geldzak or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

You may view, download for caching purposes, and print pages of the Site for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may share links to our pages and quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back to the source. Any other use, including reproducing, republishing, scraping, selling, or creating derivative works from our content, requires our prior written permission. Third-party names, logos, and products mentioned on the Site belong to their respective owners. Mentioning them does not imply endorsement by them or of them.

7. Acceptable use

When using the Site you agree not to:

• Interfere with the operation or security of the Site, including by probing, overloading, or attempting to bypass rate limits or other protections.
• Use bots, scrapers, or other automated means to harvest content or submit forms, except for search engines and similar services that follow our robots.txt.
• Impersonate Geldzak or suggest that we endorse you or your products.
• Use the Site or our content for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms.
• Reverse engineer or copy the code of our calculators except where the law permits.

8. Third-party links and disclosures

The Site links to third-party websites and services, including financial institutions, government resources, and software tools, and may link to Gumroad if we offer paid products. We do not control these sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, terms, or privacy practices. Following a link is at your own risk.

If we ever receive compensation for recommending a product or service, through an affiliate link, sponsorship, or otherwise, we will say so clearly where the recommendation appears. Compensation never changes our assessment of a product.

9. Accuracy, availability, and changes to content

We work hard to keep our content accurate and current, but we make no promise that it is complete, correct, or up to date, and we may correct, update, or remove content at any time. We may also change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site or Services, with or without notice, and we do not guarantee that the Site will be available without interruption or error.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that any calculation, template, or piece of content will produce any particular financial result.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Geldzak and its owners, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of money, savings, profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Site, the Services, or any content, calculation, or download, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims relating to the Site and Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose or fifty US dollars (USD 50).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability, including for consumers. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Your responsibility for misuse

If your breach of these Terms or your unlawful use of the Site causes a third party to bring a claim against us, you agree to compensate us for the resulting losses, damages, and reasonable costs, including legal fees, to the extent permitted by law.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or block access to the Site or Services, remove you from the newsletter, or revoke the licenses granted in these Terms if we reasonably believe you have breached them or are harming the Site or other users. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law, continue to apply after termination.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Geldzak is established, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and any dispute will be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection law gives you the right to use the courts or law of your country of residence.

15. Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page shows when they were last changed. Continued use of the Site after a revision means you accept the revised Terms. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will give notice on the Site or by email to newsletter subscribers before it takes effect.

16. General terms

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms to anyone else without our consent; we may assign ours to a successor who takes over the Site.
