From an ordinary perspective, both self-improvement and external improvement are quite similar. Although we can say they are inextricably intertwined and this is because, looking at the human world entirely, these two are both important and necessary for the everyday growth and development of man.
Self-improvement
Self-improvement can be referred to as the individual change in habits, thought patterns, beliefs, and behaviors. It is sometimes the ability for an individual to work on him/herself which might involve learning new skills and improving their knowledge about a certain thing.
Sometimes, people need to get out of their comfort zone to overcome their personal challenges. Self-improvement is certainly something that comes within the human subconsciousness. The human mind yearns for a change in their way of thinking and mindset changes.
External Improvement
Meanwhile, External improvement is very much something everyone can see happen to you. Being rich, physically fit, and having more credentials are what we can define as an external improvement. You can decide who to be your friend, who to relate with, increasing your social status, all these are still external improvements.
A lot of time people undergo external improvement without changing themselves. You can be rich and while your behavior still remains the same. You can also be physically fit and at the same time, there is no change in your mentality and the way you perceive things. When such a scenario occurs, it is definitely by luck and circumstances you can’t control.
